Have you ever wondered, why do Major Leaguers charge the mound after being hit or almost being hit? I realize that when you hit after somebody that homers and the pitchers then hits you, he might be pissed about giving up the run(s). But why charge the mound? All you are doing is killing yourself and your team for an extended amount of time.
Now if you really suck, then I guess I understand why you might do it (just to get the opposing pitcher thrown out of the game). But for a starting CF, no names need to be mentioned, to act like he is going to take his base, just to get the catcher to back off of him and then charge the mound, I think he seems to be a pretty big GIRL! He deserved every haymaker he received, regardless of if the pitcher meant to hit him or not.
Don't go after the pitcher, because if you really sit there and think about it, you will have 9 grown, possible steroid abusers on your back before you even make it to the guy you wanted to retaliate against. I seem to remember in the 90s a situation where a grown 30 something MLB player received the NOOGIE treatment from a pitcher, boy did he look like a "real man" after he got done. He gets hit with a pitch (ouch), has to run full steam to the pitcher (whew), and then proceed to be made to look like the nerd in 3rd grade math who gets swirlies on a regular basis (big drain on the ego).
Major Leaguers, please remember, if you get hit by a pitch, just take your base, they gave you a free one, now turn it into something better.
